DVA spelling bee

Our school had its spelling bee yesterday to select the winner to represent us at the Yuma County Spelling Bee this spring & Tammy represented her class.

She really didn't study...it wasn't that big a deal to her. She was more concerned with being knocked out in the first round & getting embarrassed.

It turns out she had nothing to worry about...she ends up finishing 2nd place out of 24 kids...the school's alternate representative.

The kicker is that she dueled with the ultimate winner for 18 rounds (21 rounds in all) before the other girl one...poor Tammy was exhausted & heartbroken!!

We took out for a steak dinner...which eased the pain!

Coming & going

I am now at this building on the NAU campus in Yuma 4 nights a week...way too much! I have two Master's courses here & a geology lab course (for my AZ teacher certification) in the building next to it...I'm not even talking about the online Master's course I'm taking as well.

I'm caring 14 credits this semester & it's killing me already...I'm only in week 3!! The benefit is that by this fall I will have all my coursework in my Master's done & after a semester of student teaching (5 observations by NAU instructors) I will have my Master's in Education & be done with school!!

I REALLY can't wait...

Back to work

This past week the family went back to work & school...except for Maygen. She goes to middle schoiol and they had an additional week off. We had 2 weeks & it was awesome. The first time since I graduated high school that I had that long a period off. Good stuff.



So its back to the grind and getting ready for the AEPA exams in a couple of weeks. Both Yesenia & I start school this week at NAU. We are carrying 10 credits each plus I have a 4 credit Geology course I must take for my teacher certification. At least one of the courses is only 8 weeks so by mid-March I will only have 3 courses!

One & done...again

I have no idea why I stay a Colts fan...we always do well in the regular season & flop in the playoffs!! It's so frustrating...again & again & again...I'm sick of it!!

I would much rather go 8-8 & not make the playoffs instead of enduring what I just did...another overtime loss to San Diego...I HATE THE CHARGERS!!!

Ah well...there's always next year...
